Dear Parents
This year on 4 March 2024, there will be an election at Springs Girls' High School for the parent component of the School Governing Body. All parents of learners at Springs Girls' High School are eligible for election on to the SGB. It is a voluntary service to the school and its governance, and those who stand for election must be prepared to do the following:
Attend regular meetings in which vital governance issues are discussed and actions are taken;
Contribute not only advice but also take action that will improve the school's governance;
Offer expertise such as in financial matters, legal matters, procurement and purchasing, safety and maintenance matters, as well as in policy development - among other skills;
Be active members of the SGB for their entire term of office;
Collaborate with management and school structures in their management of the school and curriculum delivery.
Sit on Disciplinary Committees, Interview Panels and fund-raise for the school.
If you can make this commitment and are willing to stand for election, you will need to fill in a nomination form (which will be made available in due course) and submit to the school either before 4 March OR at the election meeting on 4 March.
We require a strong and positive team who can collaborate with the management of the school for the benefit of your daughters.
