ABSENTEEISM AND LATE-COMING

Dear parents and learners

The GDE is conducting random unannounced visits to schools in our district to check learners' absenteeism and late-coming. Please ensure that your daughters - and more urgently, grade 12s - are not allowed by you to stay home for reasons other than illness. Dats absent mean a loss of valuable face-time with teachers that printed notes or worksheets can never recover.

Please also avoid dropping your daughters off late. School gates close promptly at 7:30. Thereafter the learners are deemed late.
